
GLOBALAB in Action!
GLOBALAB IN Action! is the follow-up project on 2 previous initiatives with the same title involving 7 partners from Europe and Africa: Lithuania, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. It aims to foster quality improvements in youth work in order to broaden active participation of young people in project partner countries and empower them to take action towards meeting the targets of the SDG agenda.
Project summary
The objectives of the project:
1. Strengthen North-South cooperation and create conditions for cooperation and exchange of good practices as well as bringing a global perspective into youth work activities in partner countries;
2. Build the capacity of youth workers so that they are able to become the supporters of young people in the action process;
3. Transfer and pilot good practices of youth empowerment and the development and implementation of actions and campaigns related to SDGs.
The project included a range of activities: international seminars and trainings for strengthening global youth work competences and sharing good practices on youth empowerment and participation in SDG-related processes; job shadowing in partner countries to explore the variety of tools and practices of youth work and SDG; local activities involving youth n initiating, planning and implementing their own actions that contribute to SDG agenda.
Project results:
-61 youth workers improved their global youth work competences through job shadowing, training and sharing activities;
-258 young people were engaged in local actions on SDGs in the partner countries;
-26 young people had the possibility to participate in an international youth exchange in Alicante (Spain);
-Good practices of action from partner countries as well as suggestions for tools supporting the action process was shared online with a wide international community of youth workers.
